Biography

Manuel Cebrián de la Serna

Full Professor, Department of Didactics and School Organization, University of Málaga. Research areas: a) Educational innovation vs. technological innovation; b) University teaching; c) Practicum. He leads the research group Globalization, Technology, Education, and Learning (GTEA), Junta de Andalucía (SEJ-462) (http://gteavirtual.org). He has participated in a total of 60 projects, serving as director in 34 projects at international and national level (Ibero-American, European, National, Regional, and Local) and different calls (Sined, Tempus, Feder, R&D&I, PCI-AECID, Training-AECID, Excellence Projects, etc.), both international and European (Interreg-III, Sined Mexico…), as well as National (R&D&I, PCI-AECID, Training-AECID), Regional (Junta de Andalucía), and Local. Many of these projects have involved leading Ibero-American universities, resulting in the organization of over 60 events, establishing the Ibero-American Higher Education Network – RESIB – https://acortar.link/iKzvYC. This activity has enabled him to publish nearly two hundred books and articles, as well as to give more than two hundred presentations at conferences. He enjoys and is passionate about engaging with groups of educators and institutions to conduct seminars, courses, workshops, etc., to share experiences in the use of technologies for teaching and research. 

He had the opportunity to work as an advisor for the Distance Education System (SINED) and the Association of Rectors – ANUIES – in Mexico, where he gained significant insights into the best practices of Mexican universities. He was awarded the “Order of Puerto Ayacucho” for his projects in Amazonas (Venezuela), where he worked with primary school teachers in schools in the Upper Orinoco region – pure Amazonia – https://acortar.link/B9qmyn
